Two Weeks!

Hi everyone,

So finals have just finished here at USC and Winter Break has officially begun. I must say, that while this semester was so much fun and also really interesting, I'm glad to have a little time off to decompress. Break also means that its almost time for me to go to Bonaire! But if that wasn't enough, I've never been in my parents house for Christmas. We always travel either up to Ohio to see my dad's side of the family or to Florida to see my mom's. This is a Florida year, so we leave Saturday to head to Tampa/Clearwater. Basically this means two straight weeks of traveling.

I am so excited to finally be taking an actual trip again. I've been checking the weather everyday and it's been sunny with highs of 82 and lows of 79 for weeks now. I'll certainly take it.

The trip is planned through Open Water Adventures, a dive shop in Charlotte where both my brother and I were certified years ago. There are 28 of us going on the trip. This will be their 10th trip in 7 years and Joe (one of the owners) says it's one of his favorite places to dive. Can't complain about the number one shore diving place in the world.

I don't know if I will be posting during the trip or after, but posts should be up early January!

Christmas Came Early

Now that my time studying abroad is done, I've decided to convert this blog into my travel blog. I used to keep journals of my trips, what I did each day, ate, saw, ect. I'll most likely keep one still for my own personal pleasure, but I enjoy sharing my travels with others and this is an easy way to share my adventures. 

Because of this conversion, I may be backdating some of my pervious travels, like Hawaii, Greece, maybe Australia, and a few smaller trips. I have all of my old journals, and lots of pictures. I'd like to share some of the amazing places I've been.

Lastly, I just found out that my immediate family will be traveling to Bonaire for a week long diving trip for New Years. We'll be there from December 28th to January 4th. Not a bad way to ring in the new year if you ask me. 

If you don't know where Bonaire is, its part of the Dutch Caribbean about 50 miles off the coast of Venezuela. All the waters around Bonaire form part of the Bonaire National Marine Park. The south western coast is protected by the natural bay and Klein Bonaire, it offers great diving and swimming condition with very little waves or currents. The rugged north eastern coast line, on the other hand, bears the burden of the trade winds and waves.
